Sumter, SC…Betty Lorine Brazell Parker, age 82, beloved wife of the late John Albert Parker, died Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Agape Hospice House in Columbia, SC.
Born in Camden, SC, she was a daughter of the late Rivers Clayton Brazell and Myrtle Lee Anderson Brazell. Betty worked for many years with Campbell Soup and was a very strong, independent person with a huge heart for people and animals. She loved to go fishing and she enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family very much and will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by; three sons, John Allen Parker and his wife Sandra of Wedgefield, David Lee Parker of Florence and Wendell Lee Parker of Sumter; two daughters, Connie Parker Lovelace and her husband Frankie of Sumter and Wanda Parker Bond and her husband James of Sumter; one brother, Larry Baker and his wife Debra of Sumter; five sisters, Faye Spradley of Lugoff, Ruby Paul and her husband Mack of Sumter, Linda Huggins of Sumter, Joyce Ivy of Sumter and Lula Varner of Sumter; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by; two sons, James Freddie Scott and Tony Leon Parker.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 12:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 11:00-12:00 pm.
