Sumter, SC…Dean Arlan Johnson, age 62, beloved husband of Jenyfer Louise Carr Johnson, died on Friday, May 10, 2019 at his residence.
Born in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Herbert Johnson and Shirley Madsen Johnson. Mr. Johnson retired from the US Air Force after over twenty years of service and was a veteran of the Gulf War. He went on to work in civil service and retired after twenty years of service. He played bass in both Last Call and Special Blend and was a ten-year member of the Carolina Rebels Motorcycle Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jenyfer are: two children, Amber Leilani Johnson and her husband Lono Hanohano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and LaVarr Thurgood Morgan of Columbia, SC; one brother, Lyndon Johnson and his wife Kim; and two sisters, Julie Demuth and her husband Dave, and Kim Guck and her husband Chris, all of Minnesota.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Arlan Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel followed by full military honors. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
