Dalzell, SC …. Phyllis Ann Norman McCollam, age 85, beloved wife of the late Ivan Earl McCollam, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Palmetto Health Tuomey.
Born in Camden-on-Gauley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Victor Theodore Norman and Ida Rebecca Vaughan Norman. Phyllis was raised Pentecostal and loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a loving wife of over 51 years to Ivan. She loved to travel, play games, write songs and enjoyed singing, drawing and reading the Bible. Her final proclamation to her children were for them to continue to serve the Lord with all their heart and to love one another.
She is survived by eight sons, Johnathan McCollam and his wife Hachan of Hemmitt, CA, Jimmy McCollam of Texas, Jeremy “Jay” McCollam of Dalzell, SC ; Joel McCollam and his wife Sharon of Sutton, WV Jeffrey McCollam and his wife Sherry of Spartanburg, SC, Shawn McCollam , Shannon McCollam of Orville, OH, Chad McCollam and his wife Alicia of Dalzell, SC; five daughters, Pamela Alderman of Summersville, WV, Sandra Champ and her husband Donald of Dalzell, SC, Peggy McCollam and her husband Denvil Knight of Craigsville, WV, Karen McCollam and James of Wichita, KS and Carmen Hess and her husband Tom of Dalzell, SC; two brothers, Victor Norman, JR. of Akron, OH and Kenneth Norman of Summerville, WV; two sisters, Ruth Rexrode of Baltimore, MD and Iolene Bragg Camden-on-Gauley, WV; one daughter-in-law, Sara Morrison of Ocala, FL; twenty nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve Morrison.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. H. Albert Sims officiating.
