Avantika A. Patel

Avantika “Avu/Avi” Atul Patel was an extraordinary woman who was loved by all. She led an inspirational and impactful life. She was born in Ndola on March 24, 1958 and then married Atul Balkrishna Patel of Boriavi. She had a special energy about her and an infectious smile that will be remembered. She enjoyed her many meaningful friendships and cherished the adventures she had with her family. Growing up Avu enjoyed vacationing in Mauritius with her family. She would do laps in the pool around them. She also enjoyed morning chai with Atul and walking to the mango tree to pick mangos. She especially loved the rose garden at the house in Zambia. She was an avid sports fan and thoroughly enjoyed tailgating and watching South Carolina Gamecocks football each fall. She was known as Mama Patel by many and was often referred to as the life of the party. During the past few years, she had a special spunk for life and inspired her family, friends, and the people she met with her courage and joyous spirit. We will all miss her dearly! Her legacy will forever carry on in all her children, grandchildren and friends.
