Horatio, SC…Burrell Moody Moore, age 95, died on Monday, November 1, 2021, at NHC Healthcare of Sumter.
Born in Sumter County, he was the son of the late Robert Mellette Moore and Hattie Sanders Moore. Mr. Moore served his country in the US Army and was later an electrician, farmer, and world traveler. He was a member of the Horatio Community Male Group, Horatio Volunteer Fire Department, and the High Hills of Santee Baptist Church.
Surviving are: his wife Janie Miller Moore; four nieces, Renee Wells, Patsy Cannon, Trudy Melcher, Hayden Shook; and two nephews, William Boykin, Jr. and Tommy Dennis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert M. Moore (Louise), and Isham Moore (Ida), and two sisters, Elizabeth Boykin (William), and Martha Dennis (Patrick); two wives, Mary Ray Moore, and Clara McAlister Moore; and one daughter, Baby Moore.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the High Hills of Santee Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ron Underwood officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 2:00-3:00 pm, prior to the service at the High Hills of Santee Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Bubba LeNoir, David LeNoir, Clarence Murray, Thomas Miller, David Miller, and Michael Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Jones, Buck Grant, and Tommy Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be mad ethe High Hills of Santee Baptist Church, 6840 Meeting House Road, Dalzell, SC 29040.
