Connie Faye (Hatfield) Cumbee

Sumter, SC…Connie Hatfield Cumbee, 64, beloved wife of 41 years to Teddy Cumbee died on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Sumter, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Larry Hatfield and Elva Johnston Hatfield. She was a fun loving woman with a great personality. She loved trips to the beach, fishing, and the Clemson Tigers. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are: two daughters, Tina Patterson (Drew) and Kayla Cumbee (Ross); three grandchildren, Carson Cumbee, Talan Cumbee, and Noah Patterson; three sisters, Debbie Barrett (Randolph), Cathie Hatfield (Randy), Cynthia Turner (Kevin), brother-in-law, William “Bill” Cockerill, and several special cousins, nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; one sister, Tammy Hatfield Cockerill and a dear niece, Courtney Renee Barrett.

The family wishes to thank the staff of NHC Healthcare for providing care during Connie’s end of life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC  29210.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 3:00-4:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Corey Barrett, Blase Cockerill, Tazz Cockerill and Troy Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Johnston, Drew Patterson and Ross Currie.
