Sumter, SC…Cynthia Jonne Snook Shortt, age 77, beloved wife of William E. Shortt, died on Monday, January 18, 2021 at The Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.
Our beautiful mother died as her heart stopped after a long illness and she earned her wings in heaven. She was born in Medford, MA and is predeceased in death by her mother and father and two sisters. She was a military spouse to my father, William Shortt, being married for 58 years. They have three daughters, Shari, Carolyn and Norbeth and thier spouses and seven grandchildren; Joseph, Andrew, Sean, Kayla, Stellina, Enrique William and Elena.
My mom loved to crochet hats and gave them away for free. We joked that when she passed away that everyone at the service would fill the building wearing her hats. Her greatest Crochet gift was given to the deployment members of the military when her yellow ribbon blanket was hung at the deployment center at Shaw AFB.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Please wear your heart proudly in memory of our mother, Cynthia J. Shortt.
