Bishopville, SC…David “Chip” Hightower Yon, age 46, died on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born in Marietta, Kennesaw, GA, he was the son of David Eugene Yon and Rita Ellen Tidwell Yon. David was a graduate of Hillcrest High School and was a truck driver for Hirschbach Trucking. He was in the process of going to seminary to become a youth pastor. He loved to fish and ride motorcycles. David loved his children and will be remembered as an awesome father.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sons, Dave Yon of Ohio, William Yon of Ohio, Lincoln Yon of Sumter, and Gavin Yon of Sumter; one daughter, Louellen Yon Ashcroft of Ohio; two brothers, Richard Yon of Alaska and Christopher Yon of Aynor; and one sister, Kristy Yon Thompson of Oklahoma.
A celebration of life will be held at the home of his parents on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 5:00 pm.
