Delores Jean (Rover) Osborne

Sumter, SC …. Delores Jean Rover Osborne (Dee), age 93, beloved wife of 59 years to the late Ivan Dennis Osborne, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at her residence.

Born in Greene, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Herman Rover and Elizabeth Pagles Rover.  Dee was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church where she volunteered in numerous ways throughout her life.  She also gave back to her community volunteering at Tuomey Hospital as well as the Red Cross.  Dee had many talents, but in particular, she was, an accomplished seamstress and cook.  Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family.  She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by: two daughters, Patricia “Patty” Riles and her husband Alex of Sumter and Carol Elliott and her husband Kris of Greenville, SC; two grandchildren, Shane Riles and his wife Christen of Pinewood and Dylan Elliott of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Irene Stanbrough of Greene, Iowa and Lavone Walters of Chapman, Maine.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by; a brother, Dale Rover and a sister, Alta Harrah.

A private funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church.  Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
