Obituary

Edna Glynn Watkins Hollinghead, age 82, passed away peacefully in her home on August 24, 2021.  She was born August 14, 1939 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Edward David Watkins and the late Euna Glenn Bell. She was the beloved wife of the late Orell Hollinghead, who preceded her in death in 2016.

Edna was a devoted Wife, Daughter, Sister, Mother, Mema and Friend.  She enjoyed traveling and listening to Conway Twitty.  She watched her game shows and her "story" (Young & Restless) every day.  She was an expert at crafting buttermilk biscuits and dumplings when she wasn't busy dancing to her favorite tunes. She was known as the “social butterfly” in her apartment building.  She enjoyed hanging out with her neighbors every Friday for games or craft nights. She was kind and reflective, a woman of conviction who was steadfast and dependable. She instilled these same qualities in her children who love her so very much.  Most of all she loved God and her family.  She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Darlene Cotton (Marshall), Edward Lazorko (Jackie), Donna Lazorko, Brian "Binky" Lazorko (Deedy), Jeannie Griggs (Perry), Sharon Morgan (Steve) and Adam Kersey. Her Grandchildren, Wayne Edwards (Emily), Matthew Edwards, Brian Edwards, Kesha Gregory, Hannah Spooner, Talmadge Lazorko, Echo Lazorko, Nicholas Lazorko, Addison Lazorko, James Boldin (Avis), David Boldin (Brooke), Megan Lazorko Jones (Dustin), Crystal Lazorko Wells (Jasen), Courtney Griggs Smith (Joshua), Emery Griggs, Cody Griggs (Taylor), Christy Foley, Corey Brooks (Stacy), Brad Kersey, Catherine Kersey, Justin Kersey, Trevor Kersey, Zachary Kersey and Emily Kersey.  She is preceded in death by a brother Wallace Watkins.  She is survived by a sister, Margaret Watkins and a brother Horton (Buddy) Watkins (Linda).  She has 35 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.  She has many friends who are just like family.

Please join us for her celebration into Heaven! Her service will be held at Bethesda Church of God on September 11, 2021. The church is located at 2730 Broad St in Sumter, SC. The family will receive friends from 10-11 at the church to enjoy watching clips and photos of Edna’s many adventures. The actual service will begin at 11AM. There will be no graveside service.
