Sumter, SC…Ermer Green Ritter Walters, age 83, beloved wife of the late Robert Glenn Walters, died on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Morningside of Sumter.
Born in Pinehurst, NC, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Lydia Lambert Ritter. She was married to her late husband Robert for over fifty-eight years and followed him through the world for over twenty years in the Air Force. The settled in Sumter in 1979 and she began her twenty-year career in civil service as a shipping clerk at Shaw Air Force Base. Mrs. Walters was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are: one son, Robert G. Walters, Jr. and his wife Harriet of Dalzell; two daughters, Carol Walters Brown and her husband Laurie of Sumter and Angela Yvonne Walters Scott and her husband Robert of Dalzell; one brother, Paul Ritter of Pinehurst, NC; two sisters, Sylvia Brewer and her husband Cecil of Pine Bluff, NC and Helen Guardino of Staten Island, NY; and two grandchildren, Lauren A. Scott; and Jacob G. Walters.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by; a granddaughter, Mary Ann Brown, two brothers, Arnold Ritter and Medford Ritter; and three sisters, Laverne Cole, Verlon Roach and Mable Ritter.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday, April 16, 2021, from 12:30-1:30 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
