Ethel Grace (Gladhill) Tallent

Sumter, SC … Ethel Grace Gladhill Tallent, age 85, beloved wife of George Thomas Tallent, SR., died on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Blue Ridge of Sumter.

Born in Blue Ridge Summit, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul Monroe Gladhill and Eva Mae Lewis Gladhill.  Ethel loved ladybugs.  She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Tom Tallent and his wife Patty of PA and Chris Tallent and his wife Debbie of Sumter; two daughters, Vickie Sherill and her husband Larry of Drakes Branch, VA and Trudy Hansen and her husband Eric of San Angelo, TX; a daughter in law, Pamela Baugh Tallent of Sumter; two brothers, Sonny Gladhill and his wife Lorraine and Tim Gladhill and his wife Elaine all of PA; three sisters, Kate Bourne, Laura Toms and Marilyn Eshelman all of PA; eleven grandchildren, Candace, Jimmy, Tony, Tracy, Larry Jr., Christy, Michael, Jeremy, Trent, Jeffery and Justin and twenty-one great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, John Alvin Tallent and two sisters, Barbara Hamlin and Nancy Gadsen.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
