Sumter, SC…Gayle C. George, age 70, said her final goodbye on December 17, 2021. She is the widow of David R. George Sr.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Theron “Swede” and DeLoris “DeeDee” Walton on June 12, 1951.
Mom was a dedicated employee at Piggly Wiggly for almost 30 years. Not only did she make many friends during her time there, some of them were more like family. Thank you to all of you at the Pig that loved her like she was your grandma, mom, and sister.
Mom lived everyday of her life living and breathing for her kids, then came all her grandchildren and her heart was full, and smiles were endless. Everyone that knew her, knew how much she loved her family, especially her two spoiled dogs, Sadie and Maggie and the Atlanta Braves. We are forever blessed to have had mom in our lives and she will truly be missed.
Surviving is: three daughters, Brittany Smith (Michael); their children, Parker, Nataleigh, Nickoli, Rylin, Hunter, and Elijah; Bobbie Engeman (Chris); their children, Kaylin, Allanna, and Preston; Tina Kauffman (Jim); their children, Bryanna, and Mikal; her siblings, Susan, Sally, Anne, Scott and Paul; and a very special niece that mom loved dearly, Kristie Cook (Ken).
She is preceded in death by both parents, one sister Becky, one brother-in-law Dean and grandson Parker.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
