Sumter, SC…James "Jim” Milton Patmore, age 88, beloved husband of Suzan Buie Patmore, died on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Patmore was born on September 27, 1931 in Middletown, NY and he was the son of the late Arthur Patmore and Hester Cutler. Mr. Patmore was a printer all of his life and enjoyed bowling. He was a strong man of God, who was faithful to reading his bible for two hours every day. He was loyal to his church family and was willing to help anyone in need. He was a member of Bethesda Church of God and had received the lifetime achievement award from the church drama program for his many years of service. Mr. Patmore will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
The best way to describe Jim is just that he was a “nice guy.”
In addition to his wife Suzan, Mr. Patmore is survived by two sons, James E. Patmore of Arizona and Glen Patmore and his wife Patricia of Sumter, SC; two step-sons, Joseph Arnold Davis and wife Keisha and Larry Monroe Davis both of Newport News, VA; three step-daughters, Lori Lanier Ewing of Jacksonville, FL, April Michelle Brunson and her husband Richie of Bishopville, SC, and MaryBeth Marshall and husband Chad of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; one sister, Barbara Patmore of Woodstock, NY; fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Patmore was preceded in death by his first wife Eva Patmore.
A funeral service will held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Bethesda Church of God with the Rev. H. Albert Sims officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2020, one hour prior to the service, from 2:00-3:00 pm at Bethesda Church of God.
