Wedgefield, SC … Jane Elizabeth Baird Motes, age 57, beloved wife of 35 years to Calvin Motes, died on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at her residence.
Born in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Jerome Henry Baird and Dorothy Carolyn Mitchum Baird. Jane was known for her beautiful and infectious smile. She loved people and never met a stranger. Jane was a terrific wife and mother and was always helping others. She was a mother to everyone in her life. She was a very hard worker and a great cook. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, Jane was survived by; one son, Shane Motes of College Station Texas; one brother, Henry Wheeler Baird and his wife Regina of Sumter; two sisters, Annie Lawayne Reebel and her husband David, and Goldie Lee Baird, both of Sumter; seven nieces and nephews, Venitia Antoinette Reebel, Nicole Garrett, Shiloh Baird, Shannon Baird, Brandy Baird, Robert Baird and Katie Baird and one great nephew, Phillip Eavan Reebel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Christian Klosowski.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
