Sumter, SC…Jo Ann Coffey Nash, age 77, loving wife of 35 years to George William Nash Jr., died on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Blue Ridge of Sumter.
Born in Alexandria, VA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Preston Coffey Sr. and Helen Mildred Edwards Coffey. Jo Ann loved people, especially children. She worked most of her life as a nanny and has helped raise many children all over the world. In her spare time she loved to plant flowers and decorate her home. She enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets with her husband, George. She was an advocate for animals and was always taking in strays. Jo Ann was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband George, she is survived by; a son, Joseph Hilburn and his wife Patty of Woodbridge, VA; a brother, Rex Wayne Coffey and his wife Cindy of Charlotte Hall, MD; two sisters, Sandy Lee Basham of Alexandria, VA and Penny Sue O’Connell of Mechanicsville, MD; a granddaughter, Ashley Milstead and a great grandchild.
She is predeceased by a daughter, Donna Milstead and a brother, Clyde Preston Coffey Jr.
