Obituary

Dalzell, SC… Kenneth “Pete” Eugene Benton, age 79, beloved husband of Nancy Goss Benton, died on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at his residence.

Born in Jackson County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Oscar and Josie Benton. Mr. Benton worked for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus and later for Davis Piping in Seymour.  He thoroughly enjoyed everyone he met, and catfishing was his life. Mr. Benton was a member of the Brownstown Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy are: three children, Gregory Benton and his wife Tina of Norman, IN; Rob Benton and his wife April of Bowling Green, KY; and Lori Payne and her husband Ron of Sumter, SC; four step children, Ben Bohlander of North Charleston, SC; Paul Bohlander of Seymour, IN; Megan Dempsey and her husband Anthony of Lexington, SC; and Becky Vehslage and her husband David of Brownstown, IN; along with nine grandchildren and six great children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his eight siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
