Sumter, SC… Lois Mae Hopkins Houghtling, age 82, beloved wife of the late Frederick McGuire Houghtling, died on Friday, March 5, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.
Born in Friendship, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Hopkins and Marion Hamilton Hopkins. Lois was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. She loved her church and she loved Jesus. She was full of life and was grandma to everyone. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by: two sons, Royce Houghtling of Ohio and Ronald Houghtling of Sumter; one daughter, Lisa Wicks of Sumter; two sisters, Betty Hart of Florida and Prudence Gleason of Virginia; one granddaughter, Tammy Boland and her husband, Erin of Sumter; six great grandchildren, Brittany and her husband Eric, Darby and her husband Blake, Alison and her husband Dylan, Erin, Jr., Holly and Joseph and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by, two brothers, Hoppy Hopkins and Roger Hopkins and one sister, Phoebe Thoden.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the family home.
In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Bullock Funeral Home in the name of Lois Houghtling.

Due to Covid-19, a graveside service will be held at a later date.
