Lorraine Mae (Priebe) Hergert

Sumter, SC…Lorraine Mae Priebe Hergert, age 98, beloved wife of the late Thomas Malcome Hergert, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Carriage House of Sumter.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, she was a daughter of the late Walter Charles Priebe and Mabel Emma Wetzel Priebe.  Lorraine was a proud military wife and enjoyed traveling with her husband during his career in the Air Force.  They retired and settled in Sumter where they joined Swan Lake Presbyterian Church.  Lorraine was a faithful member of the church and even served as the choir director for many years.  She also enjoyed dancing and even taught line dancing throughout her life.  Lorraine was a very kind and generous  woman and will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Lorraine is survived by; a son, Mark Harris Hergert of Sumter; two grandchildren, Skyler Lowder and Sierra McCoy; two great grandchildren, Dillon and Adalice; and three sisters, Jean, Carol and Doris.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Staggs officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery.
