Marjorie (Mixon) Sicklesmith

Dalzell, SC …… Marjorie Eloise Lee Sickelsmith, our family matriarch and lovingly Mimi, called by her cherished grandchildren, passed away from natural causes on March 24, 2022.

Known as Margie to her friends and family, she was a native of Savannah Georgia but lived and raised her family in Sumter, South Carolina. Margie turned her love and devotion for animals into a forty-five-year career breeding and grooming her extraordinary line of Lee Poodles.

She is survived by two loving children, son Robert Doyle Lee, and daughter Cindy Kaye Strickland, as well as son-in-law Sidney Paul Strickland, sister Betty Jean Quick, brother Gerald Monroe Mixon, Sr., eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Lee, Sr, second husband Burton Morgan Sickelsmith, eldest son Richard E Lee, Jr., and granddaughter, Layla Lee.

A Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia on March 29, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
