Marlyn Dault Obituary

Sumter, SC…Marlyn Jean Phillips Dault, 86, widow of William “Bill" Dault (Lt. Col. Ret.), died on Monday, April 27, 2020.

Born in Stephenson, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Fred E. Phillips and Catherine Thoney Phillips.

Married to her high school sweetheart, as a military wife she traveled the world and supported Bill throughout his Air Force career. After retiring in Sumter, she worked in retail and the education field in an administrative capacity, as well as Mr. Drapery, which she owned with her husband. A devote Catholic, she was very active in her church community for many years. She spent many happy hours with her four dogs, which were her constant companions. With a love of crocheting, gardening and travel, she will be remembered as an awesome cook, artist, and mother who raised four children she was proud of. A generous supporter of many charities, her giving spirit will live on in her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by four children, Susan Powers and her husband Nick of Versailles, KY, Scott Dault and his wife Kim of Summerton, Stacy Strahler and her husband David of Gloucester, VA and Shannan Dault of Sumter, SC; two grandchildren, Brian Powers and his wife Laura and Holly Powers; five great grandchildren, Katherine, James, Charlotte, and Thomas Powers and Madelyn Powers; two sisters, Lorraine Gierach and Winifred Pelkey and numerous nieces and nephews.
