Sumter, SC…Michael Levern Prince, age 63, ended his earthly journey and went on to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Mcleod Hospice House in Florence.
Born on January 8, 1957 in Sumter. He was the son of the late LeVern and Agnes Horton Prince. Surviving are his three children: his son Eric Prince, wife Erin Prince and their two children Summer and Carson; his daughter Whitney Moss, husband Blaine and their three Children Aubree, Greyson, and Landon; and his son Jonathan Prince, wife Caitlin; all of Sumter. Mike has a sister, Kimberly Scott Krages, husband Donald of Sumter. Two Brothers, Mark Neal Prince, wife Paula of Surfside Beach, and Sean Reid Prince, wife Penny of Sumter. Step mother, Lorraine Moody Prince of Sumter. Aunt, Gayle Tindal, husband Sam of Sumter. Mike had many nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He also had extended family and friends, as well as his best and lifelong friend, Charles Kinsley of Sumter; all of whom he loved very much.
After graduating high school, Mike attended Southeastern Bible College. He went on to obtain his master barber and cosmetology license and began his career at the Swan Lake Barber Shop. Mike was the former owner and operator of Prince and Company Hair Design and Shear Pleasure Hair Studio. He had a reputation of being one of the best. He was a past chairman of the American Cancer Society Cut-a-thon. He was a former instructor at the Sumter County Career Center. Mike was well loved and never met a stranger. Mike was also a member of Harmony Church.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2020 at 11:00am at Harmony Church with Rev. Mark Prince officiating. The graveside service will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 from 5:00pm- 7:00pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
