Sumter, SC…Nona Veronica Becker Sewell, age 82, beloved wife of the late Gordon Maurice Sewell, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at her residence.
Born on May 14, 1938 in Brookville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Otto Arthur Becker and Vera Ann Malasky Becker. Mrs. Sewell served in the US Army and later retired as a postmaster. She was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church.
Surviving are: two sons, Gregory Joseph Sewell of Sumter; Philip Matthew Sewell and his wife Nikki of Dover, FL; one daughter, Sharon Theresa Tanner and her husband Dean of Midlothian, VA; two grandchildren, Carl James McClatchey III and his wife Mary and Jennifer Reneé McGrail and her husband Steve; five great grandchildren, Lucas Michael, Noah James and Audrey Elizabeth McGrail and Brody James and Rowan Win McClatchey; one sister, Mary Ella Eaglen and her husband Jack of Harborcreek, PA; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Paulson of Sylmar, CA and one brother-in-law, Frank Chimenti of Lynchburg, VA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Chimenti.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 10:00 am in the St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
