Norris Raymond Kendrick Sr.

Sumter, SC…Norris Raymond Kendrick Sr., age 84, beloved husband of the late Katherine “Bobby” Hart Robert Kendrick, died on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in High Shoals, NC, he was the son the late John Melvin Kendrick and Johnnie Elam Bridge Kendrick. Mr. Kendrick retired from DHEC as an environmentalist and was member of the Elks Lodge. He was of the Presbyterian Faith.

Surviving are: one son, Norris Raymond Kendrick, Jr. of Vero Beach, FL, one daughter, Lynn Kendrick Fanning and her husband David of Sumter; one sister, Carolyn McCartha of Forest City, NC two grandchildren, Kylie Nicole Baer and her husband Luke, and Brendan Matthew Kendrick and his wife Hannah, and one great grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jennie Sue Kendrick, Ruby Merie Harms, Frances Elenor Purdom; and three brothers, Charles Jackson Kendrick, Ralph Melvin Kendrick, and Albert Boyce Kendrick.

A private interment will be in held in the Sumter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sumter SPCA at 1140 S. Guignard Drive, Sumter, SC 29150.
