Rachel Eunice (Handy) Spencer

Wedgefield, SC…Rachel Eunice Handy Spencer, age 77,  beloved wife of 45 years to Wade Amos Spencer,  passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Patrick County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Claude Swanson Handy and Lillie Mae Mabe Handy.  Rachel was the kindest person that you would ever meet.  She had such a gentle spirit and was loved by all.  She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by; her husband Wade; a son, Brad Spencer of VA; three daughters, Vickie Duncan of VA, Sheila Solomon of Wedgefield, SC and Pam Kesterson (Guy) of VA; A brother-in-law, Gary Roberson (Linda) of VA; a sister-in-law, Mary Nolen (Carl) of TN; five grandchildren, Krista Bullard, Melissa Halbert (Mitchell), Ryne Kesterson, Daniel Solomon (Lindsey) and Matthew Solomon; four great grandchildren, Austin Bullard, Ethan Halbert, Abigail Halbert and Elizabeth Bullard.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by six brothers and  one sister.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Paul Goff officiating.
