Sumter, SC…Rita Rose Gallahar, age 87, beloved wife of the late Robert Gallahar Jr., died on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Prisma Health Richland.
Born in Garber, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Clement Curran and Leta Fay Crandall Curran. Rita was an active and dedicated member of the St. Anne/St. Jude Parish. Rita was also an accomplished creator of a variety of baked goods. Her faith defined her, but Robert, the love of her life for over 50 years, held her heart through her last day. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family whom she loved fiercely. She was a genuine friend to everyone she met. She will be remembered as a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two sons, David Gallahar and his wife Jennifer of Sumter and Gerald Gallahar and his wife Sharon of Irmo; one sister, Patricia Kohnen of Dubuque, Iowa; six grandchildren, Allison (Andrew), Bob, Theresa (William), Sunshine, Kristall (John) and Windi (Matt) and she had ten great grandchildren, Jennifer, Preston, Aislinn, Paton, Cora, Connor, Bryce, Cody, Tristin and Savana.
