Sumter…… Robert Templeton Ator, age 23, beloved son of Bill and Suzy Ator, died Monday, September 21, 2020 at home.
Born April 29, 1997 in Cheyenne, WY, Bob was a son of Lt Col (USAF Ret) William and Susanne Ator. In his brief 23 years, Bob saw the world and was fortunate to experience many different cultures. In his travels he visited Australia as a member of the People-to-People Student Ambassador Program and all counties of western Europe as a military dependent. Bob was an American muscle cars enthusiast and lover of all animals. He was a voracious reader and learner with special interest of the classics like The Odyssey by Homer and all of Jack London’s novels. Bob’s strong Christian faith propelled him through his daily fight with Becker Muscular Dystrophy.
He is survived by: his parents Bill and Suzy Ator, brother Taylor Ator (and fiancé Courtney Paxson), sister Katie Ator, maternal Grandparents Robert and Dora Templeton of Macon, Georgia and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
In addition, he was predeceased by his paternal Grandparents Colonel (USAF, Retired) Robert and Sylvia Ator of Valdosta, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, 27 September 2020 at 3:00pm at “The Cabin” on the campus of Alice Drive Baptist Church.
