Robert Glenn Conklin

Sumter, SC…Robert Glenn Conklin, age 64, beloved husband of 40 years to Patricia JoAnn Bowen Conklin, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Prisma Health Richland.

Born in Stockbridge, MI, he was a son of Bernice Hicks Conklin and the late Clifton Ellis Conklin.  Robert served his country as a member of the United States Army.  He enjoyed his time in the service, especially when he was stationed in Germany.  After his time in Germany, he was transferred to Ft. Sheridan in IL.  Robert worked for over 20 years with Midstate Imports as a detailer.  He was an avid pool player and enjoyed trailbike riding.  He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by; two sons, Steven James Conklin of Dalzell and Randy Ellis Conklin of Sumter; one daughter, Bobbie JoAnn Conklin Hagan and her husband Joshua of Warrensboro, MO; three brothers, Clifton Kelly Conklin and his life partner, Sharon of Marshall, MI, Timothy Ellis Conklin and his wife Linda of MI and Russell Conklin and his wife Michelle of Jackson, MI; two sisters, Cathy Ann Conklin and her life partner, Bob of Jackson, MI, and Karen Lynn VanCamp and her husband Rick of Jackson, MI; five grandchildren, Jacob Ryan Haga, Eric Joseph Hagan, Tyler James Conklin, Charlie Scott Conklin and Matthew Alijah Conklin and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
