Sumter, SC…Roscoe Billy “Skip" Pendry Jr., age 76, beloved husband of Nancy Chung Pendry, died on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his residence.
Born in Siloam, NC, he was a son of the late Roscoe Billy Pendry Sr. Skip graduated college with an MBA and served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He retired after 20 years of service in 1990 as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was a very proud marine and loved his time spent serving his country. After his service, Skip worked for and retired from Sherwin Williams Corporate . He enjoyed writing, gardening and sports cars. Skip was a kind and pleasant man that was always performing random acts of kindness for people that he did not even know. He trained his German shepherd “Boy” to be a therapy dog and they would volunteer at Tuomey Hospital visiting cancer patients. He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; a son, Michael David Pendry of Louisiana; a daughter, Christine Marie Pendry of Sumter and three grandchildren, Jack Michael Richardson-Pendry, Kate Hayden Pendry and Sawyer Christine Pendry.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his aunt, Ruth Gilbert.

Due to the Covid-19 virus, the family will be holding a private interment at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 9:00 am.
