Thomas John Martin

Sumter, SC… Thomas John Martin, age 77, beloved husband of 46 years to Mary Joyce Langdale Martin, died on Monday, August 7, 2023, at his residence.

Born in Denver, CO, he is the son of the late John Joseph Martin and Norma Ellen Easts.  After high school, Tom joined the US Navy and retired after over 20 years of service.  He was a loyal member of Pinewood Baptist Church where he taught a men’s Sunday school class and sang in the choir.  He enjoyed playing golf, but his true joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Martin and Chuck Martin.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Pinewood Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Pinewood Baptist Church.
