Brian McGeehan Obituary

Rembert, SC…Brian Joseph McGeehan, age 71, beloved husband of Deborah Gardner McGeehan, died on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Providence Hospital.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, he was a son of the late Gerard McGeehan and Frances Lennon McGeehan.  Brian worked as a firefighter and retired in 1996 from the Dublin Fire Brigade.  After his retirement from the fire brigade, he owned and operated Bengie's Bar in Labasheeda, Ireland.  Brian loved and adored the Wateree YaYa Sisterhood of Rembert.  He was a fabulous story teller and was quick with a joke to make people laugh.  He was very musically talented, loved to sing and could play almost any instrument.  He was a talented wood crafter and loved cutting grass on his John Deere lawn tractor.  He was a member of the Midlands Retiree Military Association (MRMA).  Brian will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Deborah, he is survived by; two sons, John McGeehan and his wife Sandra and Brian McGeehan Jr. and his wife Hazel, both of Ireland; three daughters, Frances McGeehan and her husband, Robin Swire of Labasheeda, Ireland, Bronwyn Walshe and her husband Connor of Louth, Ireland and Deirdre Renick and her husband Miles of Germany; a brother-in-law, Tommy Gardner and his wife Elaine of Rembert; three sister-in-laws, Anissa Thompson and her husband Phil, Diane Jackson and Lorraine Wolff and Gary Booher, all of Rembert; a step-son, Daniel Benenhaley and his wife Cathy of Dalzell; a sister, Maureen Dunne and her husband Tony of Ireland; nineteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Ciaran McGeehan and a brother, Gerry McGeehan.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the Bethesda Methodist Church, Hwy. 261 in Rembert.
