Terry DeWayne Simpson

Hopkins, SC……. Terry DeWayne "Hammer" Simpson, age 65, died on Monday, May 20, 2019.

Born in Richland County, SC, he was the son of the late Horace Lee Simpson and Iona Earlean Cook Simpson. Terry was a truck driver for over forty years. Throughout his years on the road as a truck driver, he never met a stranger and made many friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was everyone’s best friend. The light of his day was spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Terri Jennifer Sestokas and her husband Matthew of Sumter; one brother, Gary “Bubba” Lee Simpson of Sumter; one sister, Brenda A. Simpson of Hopkins; four grandchildren,  Payton Sestokas, Christina Hall, Cayla Hall and Cayden Hall; niece, Tristin Solomon; his beloved dogs, Maggie and Precious and his many truck driver family members.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Lee Simpson and girlfriend, Carolyn Sandy Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 12-2pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
