Alice Helen (Furguson) Vohs

Sumter, SC …. Alice Helen Furguson Vohs, age 89, beloved wife of the late Richard Maynard Vohs, died Friday, January 21, 2022, at NHC Sumter.

Born on January 21, 1933, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Arlington G. Furguson and Addie L. Furguson. Alice was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  She was a wonderful homemaker and attended Green Acres Assembly of God.  Alice retired from Walmart. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and baking. She and her husband were also members of the Good Sam’s Camping Club.

Surviving are three sons, Danny Vohs (Charlotte), Dennis Vohs (Fiancée Jenny), and Doug Vohs (Lisa) all of Sumter, Six grandchildren April Eder (Jason), Jeffrey Vohs (Fiancée Amanda), Brad Vohs (Amy), Michael Vohs (Michelle), Matthew Vohs (Leila), and Trevor Vohs (Ashley), 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Judith Schulz of North Carolina, and a special family member and friend, Linda Vohs.

She was preceded in death by her four brothers John Furguson, Rollin Furguson, Gordon Furguson and Robert Furguson, two sisters Irene Eichinger and Betty Sessler.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Bowman officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday, January 25 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
