Alvin Jay Moore

Sumter, SC…Alvin Jay “Shorty” Moore, age 74, beloved husband of Yolanda Rosete Moore, died Monday, January 13, 2020 at his residence.

Born in Somers Point, NJ, he was the son of the late Harry Moore and Olive Helen Daisey Moore. Mr. Moore retired in 1987 from the US Air Force as a Tech Sergeant. After his service, he went on to work as a truck driver. He loved to tell jokes and was very funny man. Mr. Moore will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend.

Surviving in addition to his wife Yolanda are: one son, Alvin J. Peters of Waldorf, MD; two brothers, Carl Mason and Phil Mason and two sisters, Emma Metz and Brenda Mullis all of New Jersey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Arlene Peters.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery.
