Austin David Smith

Sumter, SC…Austin David Smith, age 41, beloved husband of 16 years to Alyssa Hardy Smith, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his home.

Austin was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Rory Alan Smith and Christina Clarice Helm Smith.  He was a member of Oswego Church. He dedicated more than twenty years to serving in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. During his career, he was also proud to spend three and a half years with the Thunderbirds. A true outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and camping. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. His presence touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Treydan Overman and Sawyer Smith, his daughter, Olivia Smith, and his brothers, Nathan Burnham and his wife Erica of Blaine, PA, Rory Shane Smith and his significant partner Cheyenne Yost of Mechanicsburg, PA, Justin Smith and his wife Ivy of Mechanicsburg, PA, Brandon Smith and his wife Whitney of Aspers, PA, and Adam Smith and his significant partner Amber Leedy of Gardners, PA.
