Bonnie Bess (Rosen) Moses

Sumter, SC ….. Bonnie Bess Rosen Moses of Sumter, SC, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 83. Born in Orangeburg on August 25, 1942, she was the oldest child of the Honorable Judge Louis Rosen and Kathryn Limehouse Rosen.

Bonnie attended Converse College and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. There, she met her husband, Perry Moses III, to whom she was married for 61 years. She was a sister of the Chi Omega Sorority. Bonnie taught English in Sumter, including Edmunds High School, until the birth of her first child. She enjoyed serving as secretary of the Sumter Junior Welfare League and being a member of the Sumter Gallery of Art and Artist Guild.

She was the heart of our home and family, where she raised two children, the late Michele DeLeon Moses and Perry “Bubba” Moses IV (Tisha), in a happy and loving home. She was delighted to be “BB” to her only grandchild, Nancy “Ally”son Moses. Bonnie is also survived by her sister Dr. Deborah Rosen and brother Louis Rosen. Some of her fondest memories were spent at the beach, surrounded by the laughter of her family and the sound of the ocean waves.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Landrum officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
