Carl "DD" Barkley Obituary

Sumter, SC …… Carl “DD” Delaine Barkley, age 77, beloved husband of 7 years to Kellie Berry Barkley, died on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Born in Sumter, he was the son of the late Peter Joseph Barkley, Sr. and Mary Catherine Lackey Barkley. Carl retired from Santee Print Works. He loved automotive work, fishing, and gardening. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving in addition to his wife Kellie are: two sons, Kevin Barkley, and Jamie Barkley both of Sumter; three daughters, Melissa Gurney of Sumter, Tammy Gainey of Columbia, and Emily Patel of Sumter; one sister, Carolyn Coursey and her husband Clarence of Sumter; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, Gwen Caples, P.J. Barkley, Jr., and Linda McKelvey.
