Caroline Corbin Mason, 87, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 16, 2026, in Sumter, South Carolina.
Born on April 29, 1939, in Culpeper, Virginia, Caroline was the daughter of Bruce and Katie Corbin, and she was one of eight children. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Savilla, Pauline, Eunice, Billy, Dorothy, Shirley, and Margie as well as her devoted husband, Dennis Mason.
On July 22, 1957, she married the love of her life, Dennis Mason. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage and raised three daughters.
Caroline was a longtime member of New Salem Church in Culpeper, Virginia, before moving to South Carolina, where she became a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church.
She found joy in the simple things and had a gift for making a house feel like a home. In her spare time, Caroline loved sewing, quilting, cooking, and baking. She treasured the time she spent with her dear friends Peggy, Cindy, and Betty. Wheel of Fortune and The Price Is Right were daily staples in her household, and everyone knew her love for the color red—and her fondness for wearing pink.
Caroline also had an incredibly green thumb. Her sunroom was filled with plants she lovingly cared for, and she enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden.
Above all else, Caroline loved her family. She especially cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, often opening her home for Sunday dinners where the family could gather around the table and simply be together.
From making pancakes with her grandchildren on early summer mornings, to walking around the block together every Halloween for trick-or-treating; from the family's annual Christmas Eve dinner and huddling around to open presents before Santa arrived, to sleepovers filled with popcorn and cozy blankets—so many memories will live on through her children and grandchildren. These moments will forever be a reminder of the love she gave and the importance she placed on family.
Caroline is survived by her three daughters, Debbie (Danny) Weible, Velvet Weible, and Karen Edmondson; four grandchildren, Danielle (Craig) Taylor, Noell (Brandon) Hanniford, Dustin (Savanna) Weible, and Jordain Edmondson; and five great-grandchildren, Kadynn, Madynn, Wells, Whitley, and Ian, all of whom she loved dearly.
Her love, warmth, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the generations of family she leaves behind.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sumter, South Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Phil Parnell, Neil DuBose, Danny Weible, Dustin Weible, Craig Taylor, and Brandon Hanniford.
We love you, Momo.
