Sumter, SC…. Carolyn Dianne Floyd, age 67, beloved wife of 47 years to Roland Cecil Floyd, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her residence.
Carolyn was born in Sumter, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Fred Hallman and the late Mary Anderson Hallman Tate. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and resilience, having faced Parkinson’s disease with remarkable courage for more than 35 years. Nature brought her peace. She especially enjoyed the beach and camping at the lake. Generous in spirit and devoted to her loved ones, she was the heart of her family. She will forever be cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her and were touched by her warmth.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Jeffrey Floyd and his wife Gretchen of Summerton, her daughter; Ashley Floyd of Sumter, her brothers; Donald Hallman of Sumter and Leslie Hallman of Sumter, her sisters; Lisa Miles (David Hood) of Sumter, Patricia Turner of Sumter and Mary Pope of Darlington, and her grandchildren; Isabella, Noah, Lillian and Banks.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her sister, Lois Haithcock, and her brothers; Charles Hallman, Ray Hallman, Freddie Hallman, and Pinkey Anderson.
