Sumter, SC….Carolynn Poston White, age 56, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland.
Carolynn was born in Groton, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Anthony S. Baker and the late Louise Rosetta Earll. She grew up in the military and lived in many different places throughout her childhood. In high school, she was affectionately known as “Casey” by those who were close to her. Carolynn would find her home in Sumter, SC where she enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting, and spending time with her cat, Socks. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Carolynn will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carolynn is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Poole and her husband Michael of Salisbury, NC, Catherine Parker of Sumter, Cecily Haselden of Sumter, and Jade Haselden of Sumter; two sisters, Francis Arnold of Charleston, and Sharon Mullins and her husband Larry of Blanchard, Oklahoma; her former spouse and high school sweetheart, Harvey “Wayne” Poston of Sumter; seven grandchildren, Krystyn Allen, Kenneth Allen, James “Jimmy” Parker, Brantley Benenhaley, Everliegh Haselden, Skyelar Wells, and Noah Benenhaley.
