Sumter, SC …. Cecil “Dale” Fowler, age 74, died on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Prisma Health Richland.
Born in Tabor City, NC, he was the son of the late James Perry Fowler and the late Cecil Spivey Fowler. Dale served 3 tours in Vietnam as a proud member of the US Army. He was a war hero and a 5 times Purple Heart recipient. He was a man of Christian Faith and strong conviction which helped him become a cancer survivor. Dale loved to fish, travel and was always ready for a laugh and a joke. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by: five sons, Ronnie Dale Fowler and his wife Emma of Columbia, Michael Wayne Fowler and his wife Linda of Sumter, Christopher Dale Fowler and his wife Shannon of Sumter, Justin Ivey and his wife Jamie of Calhoun, GA and Jason Paul Fowler and his wife Michele of Columbia; four daughters, Sherry “Christine” McCoy and her companion Jay of Sumter, Belinda “Diane” Bolognese and her husband Shawn of Sumter, Renae Fowler Dillard and her husband Anthony of Resasca, GA and Mindy Lynn Fowler of Beaufort; one brother, David Fowler and his wife Mary of Hampton, VA; special friends, Dustin and Lyn Johns, Thomas and Jadison Johns and Joey Queen; twenty-one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by; one brother, Bobby Wayne Fowler and, one sister, Mary Lillian Morris.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home. Military honors will follow the celebration of life at 2:00 pm on the front lawn of Bullock Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends after the service, at the home of his daughter, Belinda Bolognese.
