Sumter, SC……………. Charles Joseph Evenich, Sr., age 64, beloved husband of 42 years to Jayne Evenich, died on Friday, October 4, 2024, at McLeod Health Clarendon Hospital.
Mr. Evenich was born in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of the late Charlie Evenich and Shirley Evenich. Charles graduated from Sumter High School in 1979. He began working in the sales industry, specializing in life insurance, furniture sales and auto sales and finance for the next 45 years until his recent retirement. He worked for several car dealerships in Sumter, but Jones Nissan/Buick GMC was his home. Charles was humble and selfless, he was always doing for others no matter how large or small the task may be. He was an organ and tissue donor and through his gift, he is saving the lives of 100 individuals. Charles lived life to the fullest. He will be remembered for his love of his family and friends, his Carolina Gamecocks and enjoying life at his lake house retreat.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: One son, Charles Evenich, Jr. and his wife Lacy of Columbia, SC; One brother, Patrick Evenich and his wife Debbie of Sumter, SC; Two sisters, Deborah Shade of Dalzell, SC and Charlene Fowler of Sumter, SC; Two granddaughters, Elsie and Emery Evenich.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 from 12:00-2:00pm, at Bullock Funeral Home.
