Charles Gaulding Obituary

Sumter, SC… Charles Keith Gaulding, age 72, beloved husband of 40 years to the late Cheryl Ann Vickers Gaulding, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at his residence.

Keith was born in Bainbridge, Maryland, a son of the late Andrew Gaulding and the late Virlyn Louise Ray Gaulding.  He proudly served more than 20 years in the Army, after which he retired happily to his home in Sumter to be with his family. He was an active member of the MRMA.   He loved to listen to sports on the radio, particularly the Gamecocks and the Braves. Keith will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Keith is survived by his daughters, Melissa Adams and her husband Reinold of Lexington, SC, and Kimberly Gaulding of Sumter, a daughter-in-law, Khaelie Gaulding of Alabama, a sister, Karen Michalik and her husband John, and grandchildren, Trent, Anakin, Emery, Loralye, and Emmalyn.

In addition to his parents and wife, Keith is preceded in death by his son, Andrew Franklin Gaulding.

A visitation will be held at Bullock Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
