Cheryl S. (Breland) Vogel

Sumter, SC….. Cheryl S. Vogel, age 71, beloved wife of the late Richard Arnold Vogel, Jr, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Cheryl was born in Walterboro, SC, a daughter of the late Julius Augustus Breland and the late Mary Lee Robertson Breland.

Cheryl had a deep passion for the ocean, boating, and fishing, alongside her love for music and singing. Her heart belonged especially to her beloved dog, Remy, who was her cherished companion. She dedicated over four decades to nursing, serving the Sumter community with unwavering care and compassion. Cheryl’s legacy will live on as a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind countless memories and will be profoundly missed by everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Angie Faye McCabe of Irmo and Patty Alsbrooks and her husband, Chris, of Sumter; her stepson, Rick Vogel III and his wife Larissa; her brother, Timothy Breland and his wife Kim of Greenwood, SC; her sister, Kathryn Pace of Spartanburg, SC; and her grandchildren, Charlie McCabe, Jonah McCabe, Hayden Carrion, Alyssa Carrion, Olivia Carrion, Ricky Vogel and Piper Vogel.
