Debbie Stump Obituary

Debbie Ann Stump (née Peters), 53, of Sumter, South Carolina, passed away on June 12, 2024. Born on November 2, 1970, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, she was the cherished daughter of Joseph Peters and the late Connie Lucas (Brickey).

A graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School, Class of 1989, Debbie dedicated her life to her family, embodying the roles of a devoted wife, caring mother, and adoring grandmother to her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. As the steadfast companion of a military serviceman, Debbie's unwavering support and ability to make a nurturing home in any location stood as a testament to her family-oriented, loving nature. She finally settled in Sumter to be close to her grandchildren.

Debbie found pleasure in the simple joys of life, such as decorating her home and baking, which brought warmth and comfort to those she loved. She made every holiday, birthday, and event special for everyone. Her gentle spirit and generous heart also extended to her rescued cats.

Debbie leaves behind her beloved husband of 35 years, high school sweetheart, Shawn Stump; her loving daughter, Shawna Voreh (Stump), and son-in-law, Zachary Voreh; her precious grandchildren, Bentley Stump, Ellie Voreh, and the soon-to-be-born Emma Voreh. She is also survived by her father, Joseph Peters; her siblings, Kathy Olszewski (Peters) and John Peters. Preceding her in death were her mother, Connie Lucas (Brickey), stepfather, Joseph Lucas, and sister, Mary Gauden (Peters).
