Diane Marie (Fluent) Schwartz

Alcolu, SC …. Diane M. Schwartz, age 74, died February 29th, following a short illness at the Medical University of South Carolina, Florence.

Born and raised in Salamanca, NY, she attended Salamanca High School.  Diane later graduated from BOCES with a certificate in Office Management. Diane spent several years as a stay-at-home mother before returning to work.  She was a member of Harmony Church.  Diane enjoyed time with her family, cooking, sewing, and reading her Bible every morning. 

Surviving are her two sons, David (Dawn), Jason (Angela) both of New York.  One daughter; Jennifer (Don) of Alcolu, SC; five brothers; James Fluent (Dawn) of Arizona, Timothy Fluent (Beverly) of Georgia, Daniel Fluent (Sally), Kevin Fluent, Richard Fluent (Bonnie), all of New York.  One sister, Cynthia Tucker (Robert) of North Carolina; five grandchildren; Ed Sweet (Emily), Dylan Schwartz, Abigail Blake (Noah), Marijayne Schwartz, all of New York, Spencer Smith of Columbia, SC.  One great-granddaughter, Isabella Schwartz, of New York.  

Diane leaves behind several nieces and nephews.  Diane is also survived by beloved special cousin Donna Brahaney, and close friend, Pam Montgomery, both of New York.

Diane was predeceased by her husband of 53 years David, her father, Edward Fluent and mother, Gertrude Fluent.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

It was Diane’s wish that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to The Arthritis Foundation.
