Sumter, SC…. Donald Franklin White, Sr., age 77, beloved husband of 42 years to the late Angela Rhodus White, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Prisma Health Tuomey.
Donald “Mr. Okay” Franklin White, Sr., a native of Clarendon, SC, was the beloved son of the late Lee White and Leila Carolyn Daily. A true outdoorsman at heart, Donald found joy and peace in nature—especially when casting a line with his favorite fishing companion, Shawn Harrington. Known for his thrifty spirit and sharp eye for hidden gems, he could often be found exploring yard sales and seeking out treasures wherever he roamed. Donald will be fondly remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. His presence brought warmth to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald is survived by his daughters; Dawn White Whetsell and her husband John of Kingstree, SC, and Erin Leila White and her life partner Stanley Nathan Tucker, Sr. of Manning, SC; his sisters, Deborah White of Florida and Bonnie Yarborough of Olanta, SC, and his brother; Fred White of Sumter, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews and his best buddy Ed Harrington.
In addition to his wife and parents, Donald is preceded in death by his son; Donald “DJ” Franklin White, Jr.; his sister, Kathy Lane, and his brother; Bernard White.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11:00 am- 12:00pm, one hour prior to services at Bullock Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
The inurnment will be held immediately following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manning SC.
