Douglas Ellis Duffy
October 30, 1960 – June 6, 2026
Douglas E. Duffy, age 65, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.
He was born on October 30, 1960 at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC, he was the youngest child of six to the late Kenneth Frank Duffy, Sr and Sarah Elizabeth Robbins Duffy. After his father’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force, the family put down roots in Sumter, SC. He was doted on by his sisters and schooled in mischievous antics by his brothers. Mr. Duffy enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with his family and friends, and above all else, helping others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Frank Duffy, Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Robbins Duffy, and his brother, Kenneth F. Duffy, Jr.
He is survived by his fiancée, Aimee Nimtz of Rembert, SC; one daughter, Jessica Wright (Nicholas) of Eldorado, IL; one son, Douglas C. Duffy (Megan) of Sumter; three sisters, Rita Langland (Lars) of Sumter, Sarah Reames of Sumter, Eileen Bernard (Mike) of Jacksonville, AR; one brother, Michael D. Duffy (Carmela) of Greenville, SC; one sister-in-law, Barbara Duffy of Sandford, NC; five nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the family to assist the with the cost of his unexpected passing. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
