Sumter, SC …………. Edith Campbell, born on May 9, 1942, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her home in Las Vegas, NV, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 81 years old and was married to the late Kenneth R Campbell II for 65 years.
Edith was born in Trier, Germany, the daughter of the late Alfred and Maria Tarun. She spent most of her career working in the home as a homemaker and was a hostess at the Elks Lodge. She was over various programs at the Elks Lodge that included working with the ladies auxiliary that put on special events, she was also a member of the Elks Lodge. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Edith is survived by her three children, Connie Chou, Wanda Davis, and Kenny Campbell III (Camilla); 6 grandchildren; Kayla Davis, Alex Davis, Madison Davis, Kirkland Hanks, Jeremy Hanks, and Justin Conyers; 3 great grandchildren, Aaliyah Hicks, Stefan Batchelor, and Braxton Jones.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Maria Tarun, a baby brother Tarun, husband Kenneth R Campbell II, daughter Melinda Davis, and a great grandson Jayden Hicks.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, April 22, 2024, at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Hanks officiating. Burial will be held following the service at 2:00 pm at Florence National Cemetery, 803 East National Cemetery Rd., Florence, SC 29506. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Kenny.
Pallbearers will be Alex Davis, Lee Leviner, Kirkland Hanks, Justin Conyers, Jeremy Hanks, Randy Oswalt, Jamie Wilfong.
