Edward Bernard McDaniel, Sr., age 55, peacefully departed from this life on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on November 27, 1968, in Sumter, SC to Mary Wells McDaniel and the late Edward McDaniel. Edward received his education from the Sumter County Public School system and graduated from Furman High School in Sumter, South Carolina in 1988. Throughout his career, Edward held various positions at different organizations including Madison Industries, The Sumter County Board of Disabilities, Jones Chevrolet of Sumter, Martin Color-Fi, Luther Wells Brick Masonry, and the City of Sumter. His most recent employment was with the Sumter County Parks and Recreation Department. Edward was well-known for his loving personality, pleasant companionship, attentive sibling, supportive uncle, and his unwavering belief in God, which he shared with his loved ones.
In addition to his mother, Edward leaves to cherish his memories are a son, Edward Bernard McDaniel, Jr. of Sumter, SC; a sister, Yvonne (Gary E.) Days of Savannah, GA; five nephews, Timonthy (Tracy) McDaniel and Timonthy McDaniel, Jr. all of Sumter, SC, Steven Smith, Qa’lik Scott, and Gary T. Days all of Savannah, GA; two nieces, Vanessa Scott and Na’mia Bostic of Savannah GA, and a host of uncles, aunts, other relations, and dear friends.
In addition to his father, Edward was preceded in death by his son, Christopher McDaniel; his brother, John McDaniel, and his God-Mother Willie Mae Wells Hastie.
